  5. Judy's TenKey makes your calculations easier and more reliable.  If you
  6. use the default Windows calculator, you'll find that Judy's TenKey gives
  7. you many advantages (see below).  If you're still using an old-fashioned
  8. desktop calculator, you'll love the integration Judy's TenKey gives you
  9. with your other Windows applications.

  11. This document provides a brief description of program capabilities,
  12. installation instructions, author contact information, and version
  13. history. This document is also distributed in Windows Write format
  14. (describe.wri); you may find it easier on the eyes.

  17.               --------PROGRAM CAPABILITIES---------

  19. HISTORY TAPE:  Records your calculations in a scrolling list which you
  20. can save, print, and resize (a real help in keeping track of your
  21. calculations).  You can also edit tape entries, causing the tape to
  22. recalculate, or reuse previous entries in new calculations (saving typing
  23. and reducing errors).

  25. SELECTABLE SYNTAX:  Judy's TenKey can process numbers like a
  26. scientific calculator (RPN), an adding machine, or a normal calculator.
  27. If you are familiar with one and not another, you know how difficult and
  28. frustrating it can be to try to switch.  Perfect for accountants,
  29. engineers, and you.

  31. CUSTOMIZABLE DISPLAY:  You can decide how you want your TenKey
  32. to look (selecting from tape, memory, statistics, functions,
  33. trigonometry, finance, and number pad options), enabling you to optimize
  34. screen usage. Any TenKey function can always be activated via the
  35. keyboard regardless of the current display configuration.

  37. FINANCIAL CALCULATIONS:  Judy's TenKey calculates monthly
  38. payments for most loans (e.g., cars, houses, etc.), expected investment
  39. growth, necessary retirement savings, inflation adjustment, and more.

  41. STATISTICS:  The scrolling tape provides a natural interface for
  42. statistical calculations, including average value, sum, or even standard
  43. deviation.  Simply select the desired lines, then press the
  44. appropriate statistics button.

  46. KEEP ON TOP:  You can set Judy's TenKey to stay on top of all other
  47. windows, so you quickly calculate something even when editing a document
  48. full-screen.

  50. DECIMAL SETTING:  You can set Judy's TenKey to display the number of
  51. decimal positions you prefer, ranging from 0 to "as needed".  In fact,
  52. you can configure Judy's TenKey to automatically insert the decimal point
  53. for you (a real favorite with professional accountants).  If you
  54. frequently deal with money, you might want to set the decimals to 2 (for
  55. cents) or 0 (for dollars).

  57. INTELLIGENT COPY & PASTE:  You can copy tape entries to other
  58. applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Notepad.  You can also
  59. paste input from these applications.  If extraneous text and special
  60. formatting are mixed in with your numbers, Judy's TenKey uses heuristic
  61. reasoning to extract and interpret appropriate information.

  63. EXTRA TOUCHES:  Judy's TenKey remembers your favorite screen
  64. position and displays itself there every time.  It also uses thousands
  65. separators (e.g., "1,000,000" versus "1000000"), displays negative
  66. numbers in red, and allows you to use the backspace key to edit results
  67. for further calculation.  When in scientific mode, it provides an
  68. unlimited stack.

  70. BETTER PERFORMANCE:  Judy's TenKey enables you to work faster and
  71. more reliably.  Once you can see (and reuse!) the numbers in your
  72. calculations, you will never return to the default Windows calculator.
